The following are examples of how blog posts can be heard on Smart Speakers

1) Default Amazon Alexa Voice

Amazon Alexa devices use the default Alexa voice unless the BLOG post specifies otherwise (see example 4 below for an example of different voices).  The following is an example of the default Alexa voice:

To Listen on Your Smart Speaker 

  1. Using an Alexa Echo, Dot, Show, or Spot device
  2. Say "Alexa, Start Create My Voice"
  3. When the ring is glowing blue again, say "Read Blog Post 21"

 

2) Default Google Voice

Google allows the user to select a preferred Google Assistant voice.  The following was read by one of the default male voices:

To Listen on Your Smart Speaker or Android Smartphone

  1. Using any Google Home, Home Mini, Home Hub, or Android Phone or Tablet with Google Assistant installed
  2. Say "Hey Google, Talk to Create My Voice"
  3. When the assistant is ready for your response, say "Read Blog Post 20"

 

3) Converting a BLOG into an mp3

The Physician on FIRE BLOG posts are read by "Brian".  Brian has an English male accent.  PoF's posts are converted into an mp3 which means they have the audio features on the Smart Speakers like being able to pause the playback. There are 27 different voices available to convert your BLOG into an mp3.  The following is an example of one of the PoF posts:

 

To Listen on Your Smart Speaker 

  1. Using an Alexa Echo, Dot, Show, or Spot device
  2. Say "Alexa, Start Physician on FIRE"    (unless you have an Amazon FIRE stick, in which case you should say "Alexa, Start P.O.F.")
  3. When the ring is glowing blue again, say "Read Blog Post 62"

 

4) Creating a dialog

Several of the Create My Voice BLOG posts integrate examples of Smart Speaker capabilities.  Amazon Alexa allows the blogger to specify the voice to use for each section of text.  The following is an example of a dialog within a blog post using multiple voices:

To Listen on Your Smart Speaker or Android Smartphone

  1. Using an Alexa Echo, Dot, Show, or Spot device
  2. Say "Alexa, Start Create My Voice"
  3. When the ring is glowing blue again, say "Read Blog Post 18"
