So, I was planning to share with you new cool places you can find Alexa, like in Sonos speakers, and Bose headphones. Or which large business have just adopted Alexa, like BMW, Dunkin Donuts, or St. Luis University. But then I got into the information coming from Amazon's Key Note Address at IFA, which is a huge consumer electronics trade show happening in Berlin right now. The things Amazon is sharing is way more exciting and impressive than individual examples. You will love this!
Amazon talked about the number of devices that Alexa works with. Up from 4,000 at the beginning of this year, Alexa now works with 20 thousand different devices. Twenty thousand. Obviously, Amazon is aggressively pursuing Alexa's integration into many things. As Bruce Brown of Digital Trends said, "Inspired by Star Trek, Amazon wants us to talk to everything, everywhere." Amazon is also saying that businesses experienced huge growth when they produced an Alexa enabled product. And Google active in this third-party integration, too. They don't yet have the numbers Alexa has, but Google Home enabled devices are exponentially growing. Today, Google home is paired with 5,000 devices, up from 1,500 from the beginning of this year. Voice technology is exploding!
And because voice technology is exploding, it is important to get your content available on a voice platform. Very, very soon, people will be able to ask for content from just about any source. A smart speaker, a refrigerator, their car. I just saw an article titled: "It's going to Get Crowded with Alexa, Siri, and Google in your Bathroom." Seriously, voice technology is going to be everywhere! And you want your blog or podcast, available everywhere! Pursue making your content available through voice. This is important! You have many ways available to you. From nearly free platforms that simply play your latest content to customized platforms with your own brand that can do nearly anything you want. Either way, you need and want to be available on voice.
